Moonmade farms
A little disclaimer about my blog moving forward. Squarespace updated their platform from 7.0 to 7.1 which was supposed to have new and better features.. So I hired a designer to help build my new site from scratch, BUT it Turns out it’s glitchy and there’s no way to transfer anything from my previous site to this site.
So I would have to literally rewrite, upload the images and post the blogs again. They would be out of chronological order and inconsistent.
— And I simply don’t have the time to manually transfer all of my past blogs. So they are gone forever.
Onward!
Above is one of the most vibrant 20x microscope focus stack image I’ve created yet! It took 863 individual frames to create this wild image, read more about the experience and check out some of the behind the scenes.
Wandering about in the Ancient garden on Moon Made Farms right before the 2022 harvest one of the seed grown plants towering over me ( at least 10ft tall ) was begging to have her photo taken. The neon pink pistils glistening in the sun lights — the sweet tropical fruit smell was reeling me in for a closer look. I couldn’t resist! “Pheno 25” read the tag. Tina, co-founder of MM, was stoked that the #25 called out to me too. There’s something special about this one. She told me she pollinated it earlier in the season to make some seeds.
For those wondering what in the world a “pheno” is — short for phenotype. Check out this video by The Humboldt Seed Company for an in depth look at what goes into selecting for cannabis breeding. It’s quite fascinating! Here’s a link to Leafly’s description of phenohunting.

Perched high above the main property is the ridge line property where sits an unused double garage / legacy used indoor grow and drying building. Perfect for me.
I need space to move about and not trip all over my gear when I’m working.
My absolute bare minimum spatial requirements are an undisturbed 15ft x 15ft, with power, room. With power.. the minor detail over looked when setting up this shoot! Haha, thankfully we are all critical thinkers and doers.
We brought a generator from the lower property to power the building. I was a little worried about the vibration traveling through to my studio set up, but thankfully that wasn’t the case. I did experience some power dips throughout the shoot, but I didn’t notice that until a month later while editing the images.
Without completely editing and process the 360 motion videos, I don’t really have a way to tell unless there is a significant difference between the frames - which there wasn’t. So that made the deflickering part of the edit pretty smooth.
Below are the higher resolution images from a recent instagram post featuring Moonmade Farms.
